Peterson Mechanical to install fuel oil piping system for Sutter Health's San Francisco Cathedral Hill Hospital
SONOMA, CA — Peterson Mechanical Inc. (PMI), a Sonoma-based, design/build plumbing, heating and air conditioning contractor, collaborated with Livermore-based Fuel Oil Systems to provide the fuel oil piping system installation for the new Sutter Health Cathedral Hill Hospital in San Francisco.
The $1.6 billion project is being managed by HerreroBOLDT, a collaborative team of Herrero Builders and Boldt Company, a premiere health construction service provider. The project employs Integrated Lean Project Delivery that ensures the knowledge, skill and expertise of contractors working on the project are aligned with project goals.
Peterson Mechanical is responsible for the installation of the hospital's fuel oil piping system, which provides critical support for emergency diesel generators. The generators will maintain the hospital's ability to provide services during possible catastrophes, including earthquakes.
In 2014, Peterson Mechanical installed a similar system for the new Sutter Health hospital in Santa Rosa, California. The current installation magnifies the previous installation due to the overall size of the hospital project. The hospital will create 740,000 square feet of diagnostic, treatment and bed space for the women's, children's cardiology, oncology, emergency care and transplant departments.
