SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — When Fluidmaster VP of Engineering, Adam Sampson volunteered to assist wounded active duty and veteran service men and women for a week in the Colorado Rockies as part of Operation Rise and Conquer (ORC), he may not have been quite ready for what he was about to experience.
“These folks never missed a beat!” recalled Sampson. “Whether it was mountain biking, fishing, or white water rafting the ORC participants kept up the whole time in spite of any physical limitations.”
Now Fluidmaster, the worldwide leader in toilet trim and repair parts, has created a way for everyone to give back to these determined service men and women simply by repairing their toilet. Beginning in November of 2015, Fluidmaster is launching a special “Operation Rise & Conquer” version of their popular PRO56 solid frame adjustable flapper with a portion of the proceeds – with a minimum guaranteed commitment of $25,000 – going directly to assist the ORC program.
Fluidmaster has been an early contributor and participant with ORC and the American Supply Association and other plumbing industry partners. The program empowers and inspires wounded veterans to regain confidence and trust in themselves and others, in part by offering outdoor adventures such as rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, off-road biking, horseback riding, and rafting to service members who have been wounded or disabled.
“Here at Fluidmaster, our involvement with the ORC program has been a great way for our company and employees to give back to the men and women who sacrifice so much to serve our country,” said Todd Talbot, Fluidmaster President. “We now look forward to giving our customers a way to also get involved and to give back to our service men and women one repair at a time.”
“We sincerely appreciate the support of Fluidmaster and our other plumbing partners toward this great effort,” said ASA’s Bill Erfort, “The amount of support we’ve received from our industry truly is incredible. Through this fantastic program, we can make a difference in the lives of many injured veterans for years to come.”
About Operation Rise and Conquer
The mission of Operation Rise & Conquer, a program of the Adaptive Sports Center, is to empower and inspire wounded soldiers and veterans to regain confidence and trust in themselves and others. The program provides veteran participants with instruction and adaptive equipment for winter and summer outdoor adventure activities including alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing, mountain biking, handcycling, kayaking, horseback riding, rock climbing and whitewater rafting. These activities are tailored to the veteran population recovering from Spinal Cord Injuries, Amputations, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Burn and Blast Injuries.
