    March 5th was Opening Day at Sloan Park - the early spring home for the Chicago Cubs. Sloan Park is in Mesa, AZ, and for the start of spring training the Chicago Cubs played the Oakland A's.

    March 5th was Opening Day at Sloan Park - the early spring home for the Chicago Cubs. Sloan Park is in Mesa, AZ, and for the start of spring training the Chicago Cubs played the Oakland A's.

    The Cubs ended the game in a 2-2 tie. There are no extra innings in spring games. Here are a few pics from the opener. After this brutal winter, can baseball season possibly get here fast enough?
