Dept. of Labor finalizes rules updating overtime regulations

In a recent release from the Department of Labor, final rules for overtime will extend protections to over four million workers.

Through the use of a presidential memorandum first put forth in 2014, new rules defining and delimiting the exemptions for executive, administrative, professional, outside sales and computer employees will finally be set.

This long-awaited update will result in a meaningful boost to many workers’ wallets, and will go a long way toward realizing President Obama’s commitment to ensuring every worker is compensated fairly for their hard work.
