American Boiler Manufacturers Association Launches Women in the Boiler Industry (WIBI) Professional Community
The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) has announced the launch of the Women in the Boiler Industry (WIBI) Professional Community, as well as the inaugural Panel and networking Luncheon for BOILER 2024, intended to celebrate the growing number of women in the industry.
ABMA’s Board Vice-Chair, Nancy Simoneau from Groupe Simoneau and ABMA’s Marketing Director, Shaunica Jayson are collaborating to launch the WIBI professional community, offering an opportunity to network, raise awareness of our diverse workforce and advance our industry. The goal of WIBI is to promote, inspire, support, and connect women in boilers.
BOILER 2024
To launch this community, ABMA is hosting a Panel and Luncheon at BOILER 2024 on May 2nd, sponsored by Vector Systems, where leading women in the industry will share challenges and successes coupled with inspiration for the future of women in boilers. This event is open to all attendees with All-Access passes.
The panel will be moderated by Shaunica Jayson and includes Kimberly Adkins, Chief Boiler Inspector for the Commonwealth of Virginia (and only female US chief boiler inspector), Teresa Melfi, Lincoln Electric Technical Fellow who holds over 50 welding patents, Nancy Simoneau, President of Groupe Simoneau and Tricia Staible, ABMA Board Member and President of Robinson Fans.
When asked about the launch of WIBI, Nancy Simoneau stated “Your gender may define your identity but your passion and engagement in life will make you become your true self. Let the boiler industry celebrate our successes of the past and be inclusive to all who want to advance it, regardless of who they are.”
Nancy continued to say, “I am very excited to be instrumental in the creation of this professional community and being a part of the inaugural panel at BOILER 2024.”
