EMCOR construction workers to wear pink hard hats for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
NORWALK, CONN. -- EMCOR Group Inc. announced that thousands of its employees across the U.S. and U.K. will be commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donning EMCOR Pink Hard Hats in support of the company’s “Protect Yourself. Get Screened Today” campaign. Additionally, there will be a series of events in the U.S. and U.K. whereby EMCOR employees and its clients wearing EMCOR’s Pink Hard Hats will form themselves into massive human pink ribbons, creating powerful visual “Calls to Action” in further support of the company’s campaign.
“EMCOR employees will again this October wear EMCOR Pink Hard Hats, challenging the “macho” image of the construction industry and showing support for family, friends, colleagues, and clients who are, have been, and could be affected by breast cancer,” said Frank T. MacInnis, Chairman and CEO of EMCOR. “At EMCOR the majority of our field employees wear a hard hat on a daily basis for personal protection, and we are proud of their commitment to wear a Pink Hard Hat during this important month to help create visibility day in and day out of the disease that affects so many lives -- and the action that can be taken to protect oneself from it.”
Human Pink Hard Hat ribbon formations, considered by EMCOR to be its “signature” event, involves participation with a number of clients at their locations, including:
- Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland
- Yale Cancer Center and Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut
- Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona
- Somerset House, London, England
