Networking, visiting with industry friends, educational seminars and keeping abreast on the latest products, tools and technology still rule the day at this show. This show is perfect for contractors interested in the latest and greatest in HVAC, plumbing, radiant heating and cooling, better business practices, etc.

Attendees peruse the Comfortech 2013 trade show.

According to an independent survey of attendees at Comfortech 2013:

• 98% found new products as a result of visiting the show.

• 86% found new suppliers and will purchase new products as a result.

• 80% plan to make a new purchase based on what they saw at the show.

Cowboy boots optional, the Comfortech Extravaganza will be held September 10 from 8 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Honkey Tonk Central. These blowout bashes are loads of fun and a perfect way to unwind after a great day of seminars and trade show.

Special keynotes include presentations by Robin Crowe — Evolve or Die: Seven Critical Steps that Will Revitalize Your Business — and Lt. Col. Robert Darling, USMC (ret)—he recounts the incredible role he played in responding to the crisis that changed the world on 9/11/2001.

But I would be remiss if I didn’t’ tell you about the Mechanical Town Hall, Thursday, September 11 at 2 p.m. right on the show floor (booth #1209). CONTRACTOR’s Bob Mader and yours truly will emcee the very casual forum with guest panelists Eric Aune, owner of Aune Plumbing; Dave Yates, owner of F.W. Behler; Alana Ward, owner of Baggett Heating and Cooling; and Mark Eatherton, executive director of Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA). Learn about topics facing this industry such as the upcoming efficiency standards, radiant heating and cooling, social media for the trades, training, etc.
