ONTARIO, CA — IAPMO Uniform Evaluation Services (UES) announced it has acquired Quality Control Consultants, LLC, located in Roswell, Georgia. This acquisition represents further expansion of the extensive services The IAPMO Group offers to the building products recognition, testing, and continuing compliance sectors of the construction and building products industry, not only in North America, but worldwide, according to UES Senior Vice President Jerry Carrier.
QCC has been active in the quality control and continuing compliance industry worldwide for more than a decade, servicing on five continents manufacturers that are involved in extensive and diverse sectors of the product manufacturing community. QCC pioneered the Accreditation by CSI division, which has enabled ISO/IEC 17020-accredited agencies to expand their scope in an industry friendly and accurate manner.
“We committed ourselves to giving manufacturers, laboratories, and product recognition agencies a partner on the continuing compliance side of this industry that bridged the gap for all parties,” said Myra DeVit, president and founder of QCC, “and this relationship with The IAPMO Group will give us the opportunity to take this very successful and manufacturer-friendly process to an even greater number of companies around the globe.”
The acquisition allows IAPMO UES to offer manufacturers another outstanding resource for quality control documentation authoring and maintenance, material sampling, and process evaluation at an unprecedented scale, according to Carrier.
“The efficiency and accuracy of this portion of the product recognition process that QCC brings will allow manufacturers to get to market quicker than ever,” Carrier said, “and coupled with the client-oriented format The IAPMO Group prides itself on, we look forward to offering an even better experience to the manufacturers we service every day.”
The UES program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 70 years of experience in evaluating products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 65, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”
Products recognized with an IAPMO UES Evaluation Report have successfully undergone evaluation to applicable requirements within the Uniform Family of Codes and the International Family of Codes, as well as codes published by other entities, as specified in the report.
