Misty Guard has joined the International Code Council (ICC) as Vice President of Plumbing, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Swimming Pool (PMG) Programs. Guard will work closely with the Code Council’s Technical Services, Government Relations and Evaluation Service divisions to promote ICC codes, standards, products and services at the federal, state and local level, as well as represent the Code Council globally in the Standard Developing Organizations community.
In her role, she will lead a cross-functional team of staff from throughout the ICC Family of Companies to help align the organization’s PMG strategy to have maximum impact in the marketplace.

Prior to joining the Code Council, Guard’s most recent position was in government and regulatory affairs at the Bradley Corporation, a leading manufacturer of plumbing products worldwide. In her career, Guard has worked in all business sectors, from consulting to corporate America including Home Depot and Walmart, governmental agencies such as the National Science Foundation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and with not-for-profit agencies.
Guard began her education at Purdue University, obtaining a bachelor of science in biology with a specialization in ecology and minor in environmental science. She received a master of science in public policy with specializations in environmental policy and public administration at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a graduate certificate in international research and innovation policy from PRIME and the European Inter-University Association on Society, Science, and Technology.
