Cicero's completes full renovation of restrooms in The Drake Hotel's French Room
PLAINFIELD, IL — Cicero's Development Corp., a general contractor specializing in the hospitality sector, announced today that it has provided full renovation of two large public restrooms at the legendary Drake Hotel in Chicago. The men's and women's restrooms, which service those attending special events in the hotel's French Room, received a refresh complimenting the same historic look that many guests have enjoyed for decades.
The Drake Hotel, a richly ornamented classical building constructed in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture in 1920, is a member of Historic Hotels of America® and so this project required careful attention to detail by the Cicero's team. The extra effort, however, did not translate into extra time as the entire renovation was completed within 3 weeks due to the hotel's busy event schedule. This undertaking took half the time usually allotted for similar renovations.
Project scope encompassed a complete demolition and replacement of the existing toilet partitions, floor and wall tiles, vanities, mirrors, lighting and accessories. Plumbing and electrical fixtures were also upgraded. The new design introduces elements that the modern traveler can appreciate, yet remains rooted in the historical design that is The Drake Chicago.
