PHILADELPHIA, PA — Bradford White was once again a sponsor of the For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation Walk on Sunday, April 28th.
This annual fundraiser takes place at Citizens Bank Park and home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Several Bradford White employees and their families participated in this event to support the foundation, which provides much needed respite experiences for families during their cancer journey.
Marci Schankweiler is Founder & CEO of For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS). FPS was founded after Marci lost her husband, Pete, to testicular cancer at the age of 30. Marci used this moment to change the direction of her life. As a tax attorney and litigator, she used her unique business skills, coupled with her emotional insight as a caregiver, to launch a non-profit inspired by her husband.
Working with oncology professionals at over 100 hospitals and cancer centers, FPS provides respite experiences to cancer patients (ages 21-55), their caregivers and their children and offers families emotional support that assists them as their journey with cancer continues.
FPS has served thousands of people and had its work recognized by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Fox News, People Magazine, Major League Baseball, Chick-fil-A, Comcast Newsmakers, University of PA Health System and LIVESTRONG.
