Maryland Governor O’Malley signs landmark geothermal heat pump bill

WASHINGTON – Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley signed the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard Geothermal Heating and Cooling bill (SB 652) into law, making Maryland the first state in the nation to allow utilities to claim credits for the installation of geothermal heat pumps. The measure passed the state legislature on April 13, 2012.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — Family, friends, colleagues and employees are saddened at the loss of longtime contracting firm founder, visionary, and plumbing industry legend, George Brazil. Brazil passed on Wednesday, May 16, after a little over a yearlong battle with illness; he was 83-years-old.

An icon in the plumbing and home service business world, he will be greatly missed by friends and family. George is survived by his wife, Patricia Langlin Brazil, as well as his three daughters and one son, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
