Electric radiant market warms up
Editor's note: The accompanying chart on sales in the electric radiant market appeared on pg. 16 of the Spring 2006 issue of Radiant Living, a supplement of CONTRACTOR and Contracting Business magazines that is produced in cooperation with the Radiant Panel Association. A production problem rendered the chart illegible, and it is reprinted here for that reason.
When RPA surveyed 10 electric radiant system manufacturers for sales figures for electric radiant products in 2004, the total came in at nearly 6 million sq. ft. vs. the nearly 2 million sq. ft. reported for 2003. It should be noted that 60% of the 2004 total was collected from actual reports for 2004, while 40% was estimated, based on actual reports from previous years. Participants in the earlier surveys indicated that they felt the numbers were historically understated.
