LAS VEGAS — More than 300 radiant floor-heating contractors from across the country attended the Wirsbo Home Comfort Training Convention Feb. 26-28 here.

The theme for the third biennial convention was to help radiant installers grow their business. Educating contractors how they could simplify their installations, upgrade their marketing skills and increase business profitability were industry experts Maurice Maio, Larry Steinmetz and John Barba.

Maio shared his thoughts on how contractors could market their radiant expertise, while Steinmetz offered strategies regarding selling at higher prices and maintaining profitability in a competitive marketplace. Wirsbo’s Barba educated contractors about how Wirsbo products and programs are designed to help grow their business.

The convention also featured a trade show, which showcased some of Wirsbo’s proPANEL; the mechanical room in a box series; Wirsbo TruFLOW radiant manifold system; axial press fitting system; and MultiPress fitting system for Wirsbo MultiCor and PEX-aluminum-PEX tubing.

Roundtable sessions allowed contractors to share their experiences and ideas with one another. Discussions focused on industry and business topics, such as writing proposals, finding and keeping good people, snow-melting options, labor estimating, boilers vs. water heaters, and control strategies and zoning.

The next HCT Convention will be held in 2006. To help radiant contractors advance their knowledge throughout the year, Wirsbo offers its Mini-Camp series. Contractors should call their local Wirsbo rep to enroll or be placed on the waiting list.
