THE DIRTCAL LOW-VELOCITY ZONE DIRT SEPARATOR is designed to continuously remove dirt in boiler systems. It is ideally suited to applications using modcon boilers, or any boilers with compact heat exchangers that have very small passageways. The separator features specially designed internal media that assists in separating dirt particles, guiding them downward into a low-velocity chamber where they can settle on the bottom. The particles can then be removed, even while the system is in operation. The Dirtcal creates less pressure drop than that of a comparably-sized basket or Y-strainer. It also remains in service for longer periods between cleaning because it secures the collected sediment away from the flow stream. It can remove particles as small as 5 microns.
