The Phoenix Evolution Combined Hydronic applicance melds hydronic space heating and domestic hot water in a single, 96% efficient package.

THE PHOENIX EVOLUTION COMBINED HYDRONIC APPLIANCE melds hydronic space heating and domestic hot water in a single, 96% efficient package. It consists of a hot water storage tank, available in 55-, 80- or 119-gal. sizes; an energy saving modulating burner assembly attached to the outside bottom of the tank; and a space-heating module containing a high-output heat exchanger and a variable speed pump. The pump is regulated by a system controller to precisely control output temperatures. A heating contractor needs to make only five connections: at the supply and return for space heating, at the inlet and outlet for DHW, and at the cold-water feed for makeup water. The installer does not have to bother with a primary/secondary loop, near-boiler piping or isolation valves. The 55-gal. model measures just 34" X 53".
