THE SOLARAIDE MODEL RS80-42BP PASSIVE SOLAR SYSTEM features 80 gal. of storage and incorporates two solar collectors to meet the annual hot water requirements of a two- or three-bathroom home. The unit measures 97.5" long by 91" wide and is tested for durability and performance by the Solar Rating and Efficiency Corporation. As a passive system, it does not rely on pumps or controllers, but instead on the natural process of convection to circulate the heat transfer fluid. The fluid, a propylene glycol solution circulates through 35 multi-flow risers in the solar collector to absorb thermal energy.
