Let’s take a look back at some of the funkiest ads from one of the most super fly decades in contractor and U.S. history.

The 1970’s was the era of disco, bell-bottoms, Soul Train, The Pittsburgh Steelers, Space Invaders, large-scale architecture and… well, some pretty nifty, eclectic and downright-funny contractor advertisements.

Since 1954, Contractor has covered the news, trends, people and culture of industries such as plumbing, heating and mechanical piping. We love looking back at some of our old issues and finding great retro ads and pieces.
