If you’ve ever flown on an airplane, you likely have some kind of impression of an aircraft bathroom.

If you’ve ever flown on an airplane, you likely have some kind of impression of an aircraft bathroom. Perhaps you think it’s too small. Maybe it is your soul reprieve from the monotony of a long flight.

No matter what you think about these small, in-flight bathrooms, did you know airplanes aren’t even required to have them? Aviation Week’s Regina Kelley wrote that aircrafts do not, by law, need to have a bathroom aboard.

Airlines are not legally obligated to provide a lavatory on an aircraft. Something to think about when airlines are cutting costs…
