CROWN POINT, IND. — Jason Krooswyk of Tom Krooswyk Plumbing, Heating & AC, Demotte, Ind., won the Broan-NuTone Ultra Pro Challenge at G.W. Berkheimer in Crown Point, Ind., in mid-August. Many local contractors competed to install an Ultra Ventilation Fan bathroom ventilation product in the quickest time while earning recommended Ultra Pro contractor status. Krooswyk won at the Berkheimer event with an installation time of 5 minutes, 47 seconds, and received a $500 Cabela’s gift certificate.

Krooswyk now ranks seventh nationally among all Ultra Pro Challenge winners. At the conclusion of the tour, the eight contractors with the quickest times among the location winners will win a trip for two to the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in February 2014, where they will compete for the grand prize of a 2014 Ford F150 Pickup Truck. Currently, the fastest installation time in the contest is four minutes and 30 seconds, held by a Wisconsin electrical contractor.

The event is one of 60 stops along the national Ultra Pro Challenge tour, hosted by residential ventilation manufacturer Broan-NuTone. The competition gives contractors across the country hands-on experience with the Ultra Ventilation Fans, which install more quickly in both retrofits and in new construction, increasing profitability. Ultra Fans also help meet stringent green building and ventilation codes. Homeowner benefits include extremely quiet operation, high performance and, now, the ability to detect humidity or motion.

The Ultra Pro Challenge includes locations in major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York. Hosted by Broan-NuTone distributors, the events are open exclusively to contractors.
