CLEVELAND — CONTRACTOR and Contracting Business magazines will produce six regional events in April and May, beginning April 14 in San Diego, under the name of the Comfortech Roadshow Series.

“These will be education-based events that will offer effective ways for contractors to improve the marketing, management and operations of their businesses,” said Bob Miodonski, CONTRACTOR’s publisher and editorial director. “We have chosen speakers who come from the plumbing and HVAC industries and want to share their success with the readers of our magazines.”

Other cities and dates in the series are: New Haven, Conn., April 19; Chicago, May 3; Denver, May 18; Portland, May 24; and Sacramento, Calif., May 26.

Matt Michel, CEO of the Service Roundtable, will be the keynote speaker at each of the events. He will discuss his “Comanche Marketing” techniques that will offer practical marketing ideas that contractors actually can implement.

Popular CONTRACTOR columnists Dave Yates and Mark Eatherton will be among the speakers at the breakout sessions. Yates and Eatherton will tell plumbing contractors how to grow their businesses by selling hydronic and radiant comfort systems. Yates will appear in San Diego, New Haven, Chicago and Sacramento; Eatherton will speak in Denver and Portland.

Other featured speakers in all six locations are industry consultant Ron Collier, who will tell plumbing and HVAC contractors how to implement a performance-based compensation plan, and former contractor Ron Smith who will tell contractors how to make service and maintenance agreements a cornerstone of their plumbing and HVAC businesses. Michel will lead a separate session on how HVAC contractors can sell the new 13 SEER air conditioning units.

Early-bird price for contractors who register before March 15 is $149 ($199 after March 15). Registration includes the keynote speech, breakout sessions, tabletop exhibit area, breakfast, lunch and a networking cocktail reception.
