ASPE Presents an Award of Merit to Julius Ballanco

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) has honored Julius A. Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, with the George W. Runkle Award of Merit for his dedication and inspired service to the advancement of the ideals and goals of the Society.

CHICAGO — The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) has honored Julius A. Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, with the George W. Runkle Award of Merit for his dedication and inspired service to the advancement of the ideals and goals of the Society. The award was presented on October 30, during ASPE’s 2012 Convention & Exposition in Charlotte, North Carolina.
 
Ballanco was President of ASPE from 2006–2010 and prior to that he held positions on the national board of directors as Vice President, Technical and Vice President, Legislative. He currently is President of the ASPE Research Foundation, which recently completed a groundbreaking study on roof drainage systems with IAPMO. He is ASPE’s liaison to the IAPMO Plumbing Technical Code Committee and also serves on ICC’s Plumbing, Mechanical, and Fuel Gas Council.
 
Ballanco has authored many books for ASPE, including the Illustrated Plumbing Codes Design Handbook and the Plumbing Engineering & Design Handbook of Tables, and he frequently is a featured speaker at ASPE Conventions and regional workshops.
