SACRAMENTO, CA - Scott Harrison, CEO of Scott Harrison Plumbing, Inc. was presented with the prestigious PHCC of California Contractor of the Year award at the annual PHCC of California conference, PHCC WEST 2016 in Lake Tahoe, CA on May 14, 2016.  Harrison currently serves on the PHCC National Board of Directors as a Zone 4 Director serving Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, and has served on the PHCC of California State Board alongside the industry leaders in plumbing-heating-cooling contracting for 3 years.  A 12 year PHCC member, he has also served as President of the PHCC Orange, Riverside & San Bernardino Counties chapter and is the current President of the PHCC ORSB Education Foundation.

Since 1964, the PHCC of California Contractor of the Year award has been a time honored tradition of our association and is the hallmark of PHCC Service, Dedication and Achievement.  Nominated by their local PHCC association as 'the best of the best', the Contractor of the Year is recognized for excellence in the following categories:

  • Reputation for providing quality services to his/her customers and clients.
  • Reputation for personal integrity
  • Demonstrates a commitment to improvement of the P-H-C Industry.
  • Has gone above and beyond the call of duty in supporting their local, state and national PHCC Association/s through volunteerism & commitment.

The award celebrates a Contractor Member that is the epitome of PHCC's motto, 'Best People.  Best Practices'.   Scott Harrison has proven himself exceptional in each of these areas.  For the past 31 years, Harrison has been whole-heartedly invested in the plumbing, heating and cooling trade. In 1985, in Orange County, California, he and his wife Rita started their company from their home. Harrison quickly gained a reputation for his caring and personable approach, as well as his unrivaled technical skills: both of which are the long-lasting foundation for his business today. His success is attributed directly to a thirst for knowledge and his instinctual need to understand how things work. Harrison stated, 'The PHCC of California Contractor of the Year Award is the highlight of my plumbing career.  This is due in no small part that this award cannot be 'bought', it is given by my Contractor peers with whom I have so much respect.  There are always many truly qualified candidates each year; it is truly an honor to be selected.  This is a blessing, and I thank all of my fellow Contractors that made this possible.'

Harrison is leading the way in Southern California on the PHCC of California 'Ride & Decide' Program, partnering PHCC Member Contractors with high school students during the summer for a 6-week 'Ride & Decide' work project.  A critical shortage of a skilled trained workforce in California spurred this program, and Ride & Decide enables students to 'earn as they learn' and decide if a career in the trades is right for them alongside quality PHCC Contractor Members whose philosophy 'Best People. Best Practices' allow students to see the best the plumbing-heating-cooling trade has to offer.
