Tyler, Texas based Tyler Pipe has announced the appointment of Bill Bliss to the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Bliss comes to his new position after 24 years at Tyler, where he has held a variety of sales and management positions, including National Sales Manager and Marketing Manager.

"These are challenging times," says Bliss. "My job is to make sure we continue to lead and innovate, even during a less than perfect economy, and to position ourselves for a strong recovery when things turn around."

In addition to his long tenure at Tyler Pipe, Bliss has held a number of leadership positions in a variety of industry associations and groups, both in the US and Canada. He is currently President of the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute (CISPI), is a member of IAPMO, and has participated in the setting of standards for cast iron soil pipe products for ASTM International, the American Water Works Association, and the Canadian Standards Association.

Before joining Tyler, Bliss was an Assistant Department Head in Construction Technology at Oklahoma State University, and served in the US Army's First Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam.
