CRANSTON, R.I. — Taco Inc. has announced a series of advanced training courses for professional hydronics installers and designers.

Three different courses will be available through the end of July. All training will be conducted at Taco’s headquarters here.

Taco factory training is available to any contractor who is registered as a member of the FloPro Team, Taco’s technical training and professional development program. Contractors can register to join the FloPro Team at no cost.

“We developed these hands-on courses for HVAC professionals who want to take their hydronics knowledge and expertise to a higher level and grow their business,” said John Barba, Taco head trainer and “coach” of the FloPro Team. “We treat these subjects in depth, so each course is two full days of intensive training.”

The three courses in Taco’s 2008 factory training program include:
The “Compleat” Boiler Room, which covers the latest in controls and products to design and install boiler rooms, including topics such as sizing and application of circulators and zone valves, zoning strategies and hydronic electronics. The course will be offered May 1-2 and June 19-20.

Strictly Radiant, which includes both the concepts and theories behind radiant heating and the latest technology, as well as topics such as real-world water temperature control strategies and advanced zoning strategies. The course will be offered April 10-11, May 15-16 and July 24-25.

Hydronic Heat Loss and Design, which covers how to conduct an accurate residential heat loss analysis using the traditional tools of pencil, paper and calculator as well as Taco’s new FloPro Design Software. The course will be offered April 24-25, June 5-6 and July 30-Aug. 1.
