Speakers slated for energy expo’s keynote address

LONG BEACH, CALIF. — The Association of Energy Engineers announced that Ed Begley Jr., actor and energy activist, will speak about living simple during the keynote address at the West Coast Energy Management Congress & Expo here, June 10-11, 2009.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. — The Association of Energy Engineers announced that Ed Begley Jr., actor and energy activist, will speak about living simple during the keynote address at the West Coast Energy Management Congress & Expo here, June 10-11, 2009.

Other opening conference speakers include Ralph Cavanagh, senior attorney and co-director of the energy program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, Alan J. Fohrer, chairman and CEO of Southern California Edison, and Lynda Ziegler, senior vice president of customer service at Southern California Edison. Speakers will present topics regarding energy independence and smart energy.

Seminars in conjunction with the expo include fundamentals of energy auditing, fundamentals of carbon reduction: reducing the carbon footprint of your organization, a 5-day training program for business energy professionals, fundamentals of measurement and verification: applying the IPVMP, and fundamentals of power quality.

Highlights of the 2009 event will include workshop presentations, a tour of the Long Beach Convention Center’s energy management system and two complementary breakfasts.
