Shambaugh & Son awarded energy-efficiency contracts

Shambaugh & Son’s EMCOR Construction Services division, has recently been awarded two new contracts for renovations.

FORT WAYNE, IN – Shambaugh & Son’s EMCOR Construction Services division has recently been awarded two new contracts for renovations; one is for the Whitley County Jail in Columbia City, IN, and the other contract is for Citilink Bus Transit Facility in Fort Wayne, IN.

EMCOR Construction Services’ (ECS) scope of work for each contract includes:

Whitley County Jail – ECS is responsible for a major renovation that includes replacement of the boilers, a lighting retrofit and new lighting controls, replacements for high efficiency motors serving air handling units and building exhaust, a chiller upgrade, and new DDC (direct digital controls) temperature controls. Renovations will be carefully coordinated with the Whitley County Jail, staff as the jail will remain occupied and security must be maintained throughout the project.

Citilink Bus Transit Facility – ECS will install a new HVAC system for the bus storage facility, comprising two new gas-fired rooftop heating units coupled with a new exhaust ventilation and air purge system; new fire protection sprinklers, retrofitting the existing wet sprinkler system to a dry system; and new DDC temperature controls. Overhead garage doors will be replaced and equipped with motion activated operators and safety enhanced through beam photo eyes. The project also involves replacement of the bus storage and maintenance garage facility’s windows and exterior doors and adding an American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant concrete access ramp and safety handrail to a main office entrance.
