FALLS CHURCH, VA –The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Educational Foundation has announced the winners of 2011 scholarships awarded through the Foundation. Seven students were awarded a total of $18,000 in scholarships funded by the Foundation, the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association, the PHCC Auxiliary of Texas and the PHCC Auxiliary of Massachusetts.
Fifteen additional students will receive 2011 scholarships thanks to over $37,000 in funding provided by A.O. Smith, Bradford White Water Heaters, Delta Faucet Company and RIDGID Tool Company.
Dominic Goyette of Grand Blanc, Mich., has been awarded the 2011 Charles F. Hiley Memorial Scholarship, a $5,000 award funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation. Dominic will be attending Virginia Polytechnical University, pursuing a 4-year degree in Industrial Design. He was sponsored by PHCC member Cherie Parks of Goyette Mechanical Company.
Spencer Alexander of Dayton, N.J., has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation and the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association. He will be attending Middlesex County Community College, pursuing a 2-year degree in Business Management. He was sponsored by PHCC member Michael Dolan of Jack Dolan & Sons, Inc.
Jose Coronado of San Diego, Calif., has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation. Jose is working full-time for PHCC member Sun West Plumbing, and is enrolled in the San Diego PHCC Plumbing Apprentice Program. He was sponsored by PHCC member Hedda Evans of Sun West Plumbing.
Joseph Nuttle of East Aurora, N.Y., has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation. Joseph will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology, pursuing a 5-year degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was sponsored PHCC member by John Nuttle of Numarco Inc.
Jesse T. Horn of Paoli, Pa., has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation. Jesse will be attending Stevenson University, pursuing a 4-year degree in Business Administration. He was sponsored by PHCC member William Henderson of William Henderson Plumbing, Heating & Cooling.
Jacob Hollub of Deer Park, Texas, has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Auxiliary of Texas and the PHCC Educational Foundation. Jacob is currently attending Texas Lutheran University, pursuing a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was sponsored by PHCC member Jo Rae Wagner of CTO, Inc.
Douglas Bent of Marshfield, Mass., has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC Auxiliary of Massachusetts. Jonathan will be attending Boston College to pursue a 4-year degree in Biology. He was sponsored by PHCC National Auxiliary member Nancy Shine of J.F. Shine Mechanical, Inc.
