PAHRUMP, NEV. — Rheem Mfg. Co. announced a new association with the Valley Electric Association here to launch a domestic solar water heating program in the U.S. This program offers each member of the VEA, an electrical co-op servicing more than 22,000 members in Nevada and California, an opportunity to install a Rheem solar water heating system.

The solar water heating program will provide approximately 17,000 Rheem SolPak active solar water heating systems to members of the VEA.

By installing a Rheem SolPak water heating system, participating residents and business owners will achieve significant water and energy savings.

“As the only company that offers innovative air conditioning and water heating products like SolPak, we applaud Valley Electric and its members for taking a proactive and creative approach to sustainability and green living,“ said Chris Peel, Rheem senior vice president and chief operating officer.

SolPak is an active, closed-loop solar water heating system. It uses a pump to circulate a non-toxic heat transfer fluid through the system. Rheem SolPak comes packaged with all the components for a standard installation.
