PORTLAND, ORE. — The Building Commissioning Association will offer a Webinar on commissioning plumbing systems, Wednesday, March 31, 2010,
10:00–11:30 AM PT/1:00–2:30 PM ET.

Commissioning plumbing systems isn't just pressure testing pipes anymore, the BCA noted. These systems are increasingly complex in nature and are quickly becoming a priority as building designs focus on sustainability and water and energy conservation. Plumbing commissioning expert John D. Villani, PE, QCxP will discuss in detail:

•    Types of plumbing controls commissioned.
•    The nuances of specialty plumbing systems and the pitfalls associated with them.
•    Plumbing commissioning as it relates to LEED.

The GCxP after Villani’s name stands for Accredited Green Commissioning Process Provider, an independently recognized certification offered through the University of Wisconsin - Madison’s College of Engineering, earned through a combination of training, examination and professional experience. The designation recognizes those who lead the commissioning process activities as commissioning authorities on new or existing building projects that emphasize green and sustainable building principles.
