● American Residential Services LLC, a privately held, nationwide provider of HVAC services, has purchased Jacksonville-based Florida Home Air Conditioning Co. as part of its strategy for continued growth through acquisitions. With strategic locations throughout North Florida offering premium service in Jacksonville, Orange Park, the beaches and St. Augustine, Florida Home Air Conditioning Co. has been a provider of air conditioning and heating services in Florida since 1993. It will continue to operate as the Florida Home Air Conditioning Co.
● Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Dallas was recently ranked no. 3,659 on the Inc. 5,000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The company, an independently-owned franchise, earned its way onto the list with an impressive sales growth of 77.8% from 2003 to 2006. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Dallas is owned by J.R and Keresa Richardson.
● Uponor is launching a continuing education program for building professionals with a series of webinars hosted by Robert Bean. This live webinar series, delivered by industry experts free of charge, is available at www.uponorusa. com and will cover various radiant heating topics specifically for architects and other design professionals. Attendees can earn Learning Units toward professional development, as required by the American Institute of Architects and other associations.
● InSinkErator is embarking on its 20th year of supporting professional development of ph- c contractors at Network ’07, the 125th Plumbing-Heating- Cooling Contractors-National Association annual convention slated for Oct. 24-27, in Anaheim, Calif. InSinkErator renewed its commitment to industry education by donating $25,000 to the 2007 PHCC Educational Foundation’s “Invest in Your Future” annual giving campaign. To date, InSinkErator has donated $475,000 to the Foundation to help educate the industry’s next generation of plumbing professionals.
● Wolseley PLC, the world’s largest specialist trade distributor of plumbing and heating products to professional contractors has announced two major acquisitions. On Aug. 13, 2007, Ferguson acquired Western Air Systems & Controls Inc. from Glenn Woodward. Western Air is the exclusive Trane HVAC distributor for the states of California (excluding the San Francisco Bay area) and Nevada. On Aug. 27, 2007, Ferguson acquired Davidson Pipe Co. Inc. from the Davidson and Krueger families and trustees. Davidson is a pipe, valve and fittings distributor supplying the New York metropolitan market.
