Washington — The Green Mechanical Council recently announced Stiebel Eltron, a German manufacturer of tankless electric water heaters and solar hot water heating equipment, as a new member.

The company focuses on products that use less energy, are safer and create a comfortable environment for the consumer. Its solar thermal systems are energy efficient, and a family in New England can expect the solar thermal system to satisfy 65-75% of their annual hot water needs. In Florida or California, a family can expect the system to satisfy 85-95% of annual hot water needs.

Stiebel Eltron Tempra tankless electric water heaters can provide a backup to the solar thermal system when necessary.
