GREENVILLE, ILL.Enertech Manufacturing LLC announced the purchase of the Thermal Energy Transfer Company (TETCO) brand of geothermal heating and cooling systems from Chiller Solutions LLC, Pompton Plains, N.J. Enertech plans to produce TETCO branded equipment in Mitchell, S.D., where its existing brands are currently produced.

The TETCO product line was founded in 1977, making it one of the first residential geothermal brands marketed in the U.S.

“TETCO is the pioneer of the geothermal industry,” said Steve Smith, president of Enertech. “It’s not uncommon to find a TETCO heat pump that’s been in operation for twenty years or more. Their products are known to be some of the most durable and long-lasting units around.”

Enertech Manufacturing is a relative newcomer in the geothermal manufacturing arena, but shares similar ideals.

“Given the history and heritage of the TETCO brand, we believed it to be strategically aligned with our growth objectives and an excellent addition to our current product portfolio,” said Smith.

This acquisition comes on the heels of the announcement of Enertech’s intention to double its manufacturing footprint by the end of the year. The TETCO purchase adds a third brand to Enertech’s geothermal product line, augmenting the GeoComfort and Hydron Module brands.

“The strength of the TETCO brand is an incredible asset,” said Shawn Melton, vice president of sales. “We’re excited to be able to offer another line of geothermal products as interest in the technology grows.”
