Rockville, Md. — Dunbar Mechanical Inc., Toledo, Ohio, is the 100th service contractor to receive the prestigious MSCA Star designation from the Mechanical Service Contractors of America.

The MSCA Star is awarded to service contractors who have reached the highest level of quality in several critical areas. Before the Star is awarded, applicants must demonstrate that they:

  • Uphold a strict code of business ethics.

  • Employ a highly trained and qualified workforce.

  • Maintain a superior safety record.

  • Offer outstanding customer service.

  • Focus on continuing education for all employees.

Star companies are reviewed every five years to be sure they are maintaining the criteria. There is a rigorous process for applicants and their applications are independently reviewed by the National ITC Corp., an ISO certified and ANSI accredited certifier for the HVACR industry.

Founded in 1936 as a rural farm and residential contractor, Dunbar Mechanical has grown to one of the 100 largest mechanical contractors in the nation. The Dunbar Mechanical Service Group works throughout northwest Ohio and southern Michigan, providing preventive maintenance and replacement of HVAC systems through a fleet of more than 30 service vehicles.

“Dunbar Mechanical has long been a supporter of MSCA and MCAA,” said President and CEO Steve Dunbar. “We take pride in the talents and skills of our technicians. We are proud to achieve the MSCA Star designation. It is a key component of Dunbar Mechanical's strategy to be a provider of green mechanical services.”

Other companies recently qualifying as MSCA Stars include B&V Mechanical Inc. in Wyoming, Mich.; Southwest Town Mechanical, Orland Park, Ill.; Dimech Services Inc., Toledo, Ohio; W.L. Gary Co. Inc., Washington; Mechanical Service Corp., Whippany, N.J.; McIntosh Services Inc., Tulsa, Okla., and Speer Mechanical, Columbus, Ohio.

All companies earning the MSCA Star designation this year will be recognized at a special ceremony to take place during the upcoming MSCA annual educational conference, scheduled for Oct. 12-15 at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, those contractors achieving MSCA's newest designation, MSCA GreenStar, will also be announced. MSCA GreenStar recognizes those contractors successfully demonstrating their commitment of environmental stewardship throughout their entire organization.
