BOWIE, MD ─ Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. (CFSI), a leading provider of building operations and maintenance, mechanical contracting and HVAC services to government and commercial clients, has announced that Michael Adams Jr., a senior at Oxon Hill High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland, has been awarded the Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship for $2,000. This is the first year that Crockett Facilities Services has funded a college scholarship to help students in their pursuit of a higher education.
Michael was selected from a pool of qualified applicants based on his high academic achievements, including maintaining a weighted 4.05 GPA. His extracurricular activities include National Honor Society member, class vice president of the Student Government Association and vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America. Michael has been accepted to the University of Maryland and the Honors College for fall 2011 and plans to study law to become an attorney.
“I’m so pleased to be able to give a scholarship to such an outstanding young man,” said Cynthia Crockett, president, Crockett Facilities Services. “Michael recognizes the important role that education plays in helping to realize his goals. I know that he will be successful in whatever he does. I look forward to next year’s applicants.”
The annual Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship is open to employees and children/grandchildren of CFSI or its subsidiaries. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to an accredited college or university as a full-time student seeking an Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
