Houston — Comfort Systems USA Inc., a leading provider of commercial, industrial and institutional HVAC services, announced that it has acquired Merit Mechanical Inc., a full service commercial HVAC company based in Redmond, Washington. Merit Mechanical had 2007 revenues of approximately $24 million, and if Merit Mechanical had been part of Comfort Systems in 2007, it would have contributed earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of at least $1.4 million.

Bill Murdy, Comfort Systems USA's chairman and CEO, noted, “We are very pleased to bring Merit Mechanical into the Comfort Systems USA family of companies. Merit Mechanical has a solid construction and service reputation in the Seattle area, and in light of their strong team and diverse capabilities, we believe Merit Mechanical will make a strong and growing contribution to our continuing operations.”

Comfort Systems addresses workplace comfort with 66 locations in 54 cities around the nation. Additional information is available at www.comfortsystemsusa.com.
