Burnham Expands In PA
LANCASTER, PA. — Hydronic and HVAC product manufacturer Burnham Holdings Inc. in early December announced an expansion and realignment of its Lancaster, Pa.-based residential boiler operations.
Burnham Holdings said that product assembly and warehousing for its residential boiler business in Lancaster will be relocated to a new location in the Old Sycamore Industrial Park, approximately four miles west of the city. The new location has 330,000-sq.ft. of space in two adjacent buildings and is large enough to consolidate all administrative, sales and marketing, customer service, product assembly, and warehousing functions into one location, readily accessible to the firm’s geographic markets. The new location has been obtained under a long-term lease arrangement and will be known as the Centerville facility.
The company noted that its residential boiler business has grown, increasing its need for space. Burnham currently operates out of four separate locations in Lancaster. The company said the move would provide a significant opportunity to improve communications, streamline operations, reduce material handling and complexity, and improve productivity.
The transition to Centerville will begin on May 1, 2005, and will be substantially complete by the end of the year.
The company said that it hopes to improve customer service, improve its competitive position, and provide for future growth. Burnham also noted that it was eschewing moving off shore and its decision to invest in the Centerville facility reflects its “unending commitment to our customers” and its confidence in Lancaster County and its experienced workforce.
Burnham has received assistance in the expansion from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
