Attendees to Ecobuild America 2007 can explore a new Green Mechanical Pavilion sponsored by the Green Mechanical Council May 16-17. The Ecobuild America conference and exhibit, focused on “Sustainable, Green and High-Performance Solutions for the Built Environment,” will take place May 15-17 at the Anaheim (Calif.) Convention Center.

The pavilion will showcase mechanical systems, products and services designed to save energy and reduce emissions. Pavilion visitors can attend related panel discussions sponsored by GreenMech and moderated by the council's Executive Director Tom Meyer on “Engineering Sustainable Retrofits” and “Marrying Green Design and Green Engineering.”

Complete descriptions and additional sessions are available at www.ecobuildamerica.com.

“In support of our goal to deliver high-performance green and sustainable building solutions to every member of the design and construction team, we are happy to expand our educational and product offerings in mechanical systems and engineering,” said George Borkovich, Ecobuild America principal. “GreenMech is a front runner in educating the industry in this important area to improve the health of our planet. We are happy to have GreenMech’s assistance in expanding the knowledge of our attendees in this discipline and directing them to mechanical resources.”

Meyer described GreenMech as, “A clearing house of information and education for designers, installers and service techs who deal with mechanical systems every day. They are the people who can have the most immediate effect on reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. One of the benefits to manufacturer involvement is there is a feedback communication from the field to the manufacturers making practical changes and improvements to products based on field experience and ingenuity. It’s a win-win deal.”

Ecobuild America, under the leadership of principals Richard C. Vendola Jr. and George Borkovich, manages and produces Ecobuild America, Ecobuild Fall, AEC-ST and AEC-ST Fall. Previously, they had created and managed the construction computer show known as A/E/C Systems International conference and exhibition.

GreenMech is a nonprofit organization formed to promote energy-efficient mechanical systems in residential and commercial buildings. Additional information is available at www.greenmech.org.
