You can find out what the mechanical room at a football stadium looks like April 5 at a radiant heating seminar at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots football team, that will benefit the "Oil Heat Cares" charitable program. The Oil Heat Cares directors, National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers and Taco are sponsoring the event.

The keynote instructor for the seminar will be radiant heating expert John Barba, who is originally from Harvard, Mass., and now lives in Minnesota. His career in radiant started early working for his father's plumbing and heating business. After his father's retirement he took over management of the business. Since then, Barba has become a radiant instructor and has taught thousands of people about radiant heating.

In addition to learning about radiant heating, attendees will have a tour of the stadium in Foxborough, Mass., which is home to the Patriots, three-time Superbowl champions. The tour will include the players' locker room and the mechanical room.

The registration fee is $99 for the seminar and tour that will be held 3 to 9:00 p.m. Registration is available online at www.naohsm.org or by calling 888/552-0900.

Attendees for this event will be limited to 150. Early registration is advised. In addition to the seminar and tour, food and beverages will be served and door prizes given away to attendees.

All proceeds will go to Oil Heat Cares, which was established by NAOHSM to raise funds to assist needy people and organizations with the replacement of their oil-heating appliances. NAOHSM's chapters and member companies identify people within their neighborhoods that need to replace their heating systems but cannot afford to do so. After receiving approval from Oil Heat Cares, they then install the equipment at no cost to the homeowner. In addition to financial contributions, the charity relies on manufacturers in the industry to donate equipment and supplies. Since the labor for installations is donated by NAOHSM member companies, any financial contributions received by the Foundation go directly to purchasing heating equipment.
