SARASOTA, FLA. -- Clockwork Home Services Inc. has announced that both of its One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing units are ranked among the nation's top 500 franchises for 2008, according to Entrepreneur magazine's 29th annual "Franchise 500" list. One Hour Air ranked No. 162 on this year's list and Benjamin Franklin ranked No. 248. The rankings were published in the magazine's January issue.
The rankings are compiled annually by the magazine and are based on companies' growth rate, financial strength and stability and size of the franchise system. Other considerations for inclusion in the list include the number of years in business, length of time franchising, startup costs, low employee turnover and whether the company provided financing. For 2008, both Clockwork-owned franchises showed positive growth, resulting in improved rankings over 2007.
In addition to its listing on the Franchise 500, One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating received two additional nods in specific categories. The HVAC franchise is ranked No. 1 on the magazine's "Miscellaneous Home Repairs" list and No. 5 on its list of "Top Franchises" for 2008, which the magazine awards to the top companies that have been franchising since 2003.
