Central Mechanical wins Leavenworth job
MANHATTAN, KAN. — Central Mechanical Construction, an EMCOR Group unit based here, has received a contract for the design/assist and installation of complete mechanical systems for two new projects at the Fort Leavenworth United States Army facility located in Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.
Central Mechanical will be responsible for providing the installation of all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, at the new Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing barracks, a 54,534-sq.ft. building that will contain 56 two-person apartments. Additionally, Central Mechanical will also be responsible for the installation of the complete mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, at a new multi-faith chapel at the Ft. Leavenworth facility. The chapel, a 26,200-sq.ft. building, which includes classrooms and office spaces, is designed to hold 1,191 people. Both the barracks and the chapel will be designed and built to meet the requirements for a LEED Accredited Silver Facility.
“As one of the Midwest's premier, full service mechanical contractors, Central Mechanical is proud to have been selected to provide the Fort Leavenworth barracks and chapel the quality mechanical systems that it requires,” said John Lonker, president of Central Mechanical Construction. “We are very pleased to be working on these important projects at one of the most renowned Army bases in the United States.”
