ICC’s educational program offers CEUs, learning lab

WASHINGTON — At ICC’s 2009 Codes Forum Education Program, March 23-25, in New Orleans, La., attendees will have the opportunity to participate in sessions taught by code experts and obtain continuing education units.

Sessions offering CEUs/LUs include disaster response, green building, fire inspection, building inspection, administrative/code official, mechanical inspection, plumbing inspection, permit technician, design professional and electrical.

A learning lab included in the disaster response and green building tracks will take attendees to New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward where the Make It Right Foundation, founded by Brad Pitt, is redeveloping the historic neighborhood by building a community of homes, emphasizing affordability, high-quality design and sustainable construction. Activities and discussions will focus on code compliant design, building strategies and best practices.

Space for this program is limited. Additional events include the Code Council Board Meeting, March 21–22, and the Code Council Town Hall Meeting with CEO and Board , March 22.
