RACINE, WISC. -- InSinkErator, the world’s largest manufacturer of food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers, announced its continued support of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation’s 2012 “Invest in Your Future” Annual Giving Campaign.
Recognizing that education and training help ensure the plumbing, heating and cooling industry remains at the forefront of progress, InSinkErator renewed its commitment to help fund education aimed at benefiting contractors, as well as scholarships to develop the industry’s future leaders. The company presented a $25,000 donation to the Invest in Your Future” Campaign at CONNECT 2011, the 129th PHCC-National Association convention held September in Minneapolis.
“We have seen the industry change in just the last couple years,” said foundation chairman Bill Jones. “We are training contractors to find new ways to stay profitable, but it takes support like the matching gift made each year by InSinkErator to make that training possible.”
The PHCC Educational Foundation’s “Invest in Your Future” Annual Giving Campaign is a collaborative effort of InSinkErator, the PHCC Educational Foundation and PHCC National Auxiliary. It is the primary fundraising vehicle for both the foundation’s contractor education efforts and the National Auxiliary’s scholarship program. Since the PHCC National Auxiliary and the PHCC Educational Foundation began their respective scholarship programs, nearly $2.9 million has been awarded to young men and women across the nation. Those who supported the industry in 2011 had a one-third matching gift from InSinkErator applied to their donation.
“There is no better way to support the plumbing industry than by investing in education,” said Dennis Broderick, senior vice president of wholesale sales for InSinkErator. “Ffunds are critical to achieving our combined goal of better serving customers and raising awareness about the outstanding career opportunities within our industry. We value our longstanding partnership with the PHCC Educational Foundation and encourage all efforts to advance the industry through necessary training for today’s – and tomorrow’s – professionals.”
InSinkErator will remain a strong supporter in 2012. The PHCC Educational Foundation’s 2012 campaign goal has been set at $145,000.
