Growing a plumbing business through word of mouth

Marketing may be one of the hardest parts of owning a plumbing business, but it doesn’t have to be if you leave behind great work at every job.

Marketing may be one of the hardest parts of owning a plumbing business, but it doesn’t have to be if you leave behind great work at every job. Just look at this recent story from The Record Eagle on Jason Hillier’s Advanced Plumbing Systems LLC’s business, which started in the middle of the recent recession.

Hillier said he is just starting to brand his work truck and now has a website, as of the end of 2014, but word of mouth via his work has played a key role in keeping the business alive and well.

Company growth so far has come mostly by word of mouth, he said.

"People I don't know refer me to other people I don't know," he said.

He relies on the work he leaves behind to build his reputation.
