Alice A. Martin Named Vice Chairman and Chief Revenue Officer for NIBCO

ELKHART, IND. – The Board of Directors of NIBCO INC. has announced the appointment of Alice A. Martin to chief revenue officer of the manufacturer of flow control fittings and valves. She also continues her position as vice chairman of the board.

"Alice's objective analysis and strength in critical financial and management issues have been instrumental in the growth of NIBCO as an international industry leader," Rex Martin, chairman of the board, said in announcing her appointment.

In this new role, Martin will oversee the integration and alignment of the revenue generating functions of the company including Wholesale Sales, Retail & Specialty Sales, Pricing, Customer Service and Risk Management. She will also be responsible for the Controls and Balancing Division.

Alice Martin has held a variety of leadership positions since joining the NIBCO Board of Directors in 2000. Most recently, she has served as chief people officer, where she helped advance the careers of hundreds of NIBCO associates. Her leadership also led to the implementation of several leadership development programs, including the Women's Group, which helps women from all NIBCO locations achieve career success, and the Human Resources Sales Training Program, which as recruited new and diversified college talent.

Other leadership positions include vice chairman of the board since 2002.

Alice Martin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in education and psychology with high honors from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.  She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois.

Alice Martin co-founded The Rex & Alice A. Martin Foundation with her husband, Rex, to fund major projects for the betterment of children. Headquartered in Elkhart, Ind., the Foundation has funded the NIBCO Water & Ice Park in downtown Elkhart as well as the Martin Skate Park I and Martin Skate Park II on the west and east sides of Elkhart, respectively. Additionally, the Foundation has contributed significantly to the renovation of the Lerner Theatre and to the construction of Indiana University at South Bend facility, both in downtown Elkhart. Other projects include the purchase of a Children’s Garden at the Wellfield Botanical Gardens in Elkhart. With three other donors, the Foundation purchased the Havilah Beardsley House, an historic preservation and arts center in Elkhart.

Alice Martin has served as a board member of more than 30 local, regional and state charitable organizations. Her advisory board service includes Indiana University South Bend and the Business College at University of Notre Dame.

In recognition of her leadership and philanthropic endeavors, Alice Martin has been honored many times by local and regional groups, including as recipient of the Arthur J. Decio Award by Premier Arts in Elkhart and the 2012 Businesswoman of the Year Award by the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce. She has also received the “Sagamore of the Wabash” Award, Indiana’s highest honor, and the Lewis S. Armstrong Award for Business Acumen by Indiana University South Bend.

Other organizations that have recognized her contributions and achievements include the University of Illinois, WNIT Public Television, Rotary International, Lions Club International, the United Way and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The Public Broadcasting Service honored Alice Martin at its national convention with its National Leadership Award and the House and Senate of the State of Indiana passed a joint resolution of commendation in her honor.
