Boston — The Construction Institute has announced the availability of two multimedia DVD-based learning tools on workplace hazards in construction. The DVDs are available for free, thanks to grants from the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration.

“Excavation & Trenching Safety for Workers,” available in English and Spanish, incorporates text slides, instructive computer animations, graphics, video, and interviews with workers and safety experts.

“Four High Hazards in Construction” contains similar features to address falls, electrocution, struck-by-an-object and caught-in-between hazards.

Both DVDs were funded through a grant from the OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, and were produced in partnership with MetaMedia Training International Inc. of Germantown, Md. They may be ordered free of charge on the Institute's Website at www.theconstructioninstitute.net.

The institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of union construction.
