The number of company-owned stores within the Linc Service Network now totals 18 with the acquisition of four locations of Virginia-based Seaboard Mechanical Services by The Linc Group. Seaboard Mechanical, Chesapeake, Va., has branch locations in Richmond, Va.; Raleigh, N.C.; and Washington.

Seaboard Mechanical has provided HVAC and refrigeration services to commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic States since 1983. Seaboard is one of the seven operating divisions of Calliber Services, owned by Pepco Energy Services, a wholly owned and separately operated subsidiary of Potomac Electric Power Co.

Jason Sanker, president of Seaboard Mechanical, said the acquisition is an opportunity to enhance and strengthen his existing operations via the resources available from The Linc Group.

"As a company, we look forward to understanding and implementing the technology platform that The Linc Group provides to its company-owned franchises, as well as the training, business systems, sales, marketing and recruiting resources that are available through the Linc Service Network," Sanker said. "This is truly a win for both organizations."

Scott Giacobbe, president and CEO of Linc Network, said a primary focus of The Linc Group is growth through acquisition - especially acquisition of companies with strong reputations, knowledgeable employees and a history of providing exceptional service.

"Chesapeake, Richmond, Raleigh and Washington, D.C., are markets with explosive growth, and ones that we are pleased to add to our company store portfolio," Giacobbe said. "By joining forces with Seaboard Mechanical, we are partnering with a known entity that's been providing high quality service for the past 23 years. Seaboard's knowledge of their local markets coupled with the resources of TLG is a powerful combination. Together, we will be able to achieve our collective goals.

"This new relationship enables Seaboard Mechanical to continue delivering the same high quality service to their customers while helping to expand their depth and breadth by becoming a Linc company-owned store. We're pleased to have them as part of the 'immediate' family."

Seaboard Mechanical's areas of expertise include: custom-designed scheduled maintenance programs; design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of DDC facility automation and process control systems; and an engineering/construction group capable of total design/build project work for new buildings or system replacements/retrofits in existing facilities.

Seaboard's customers include Fortune 500 companies, university campuses, public school systems, hospitals, water-treatment facilities and manufacturing facilities.

Simultaneously, Linc Services' sister company, Linc Facility Services, has acquired MET Electrical Testing and its subsidiary companies, Carolina Electrical Testing and Substation Test Co. Seaboard Mechanical is the HVAC sister company of MET.

The Linc Group is the parent company of Linc Network, franchisor of the Linc System. Contractors who own a Linc Network franchise are known as Linc Service Contractors, and only one contractor in 100 qualifies to join, the company said.

The Seaboard acquisition extends the reach of The Linc Group company-owned stores, which now include: Atlanta; Boston; Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Detroit; Irvine, Calif.; Pittsburgh; Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas; Las Vegas; Orlando and Tampa, Fla.; and Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.

The Linc Service Network of Contractors also includes more than 110 independently owned franchises in the United States, Canada and Bermuda, all of which follow the Linc System, a proprietary system for delivering professional preventive maintenance, equipment retrofits and energy efficiency to the commercial buildings market, the company said.
