Rockville, MD. - The Mechanical Service Contractors of America announced that Current Mechanical, a Linc service contractor, and The Fagan Co., a subsidiary of EMCOR Group Inc., have been awarded the MSCA GreenStar designation, which recognizes MSCA STAR qualified contractors who have met guidelines for environmental responsibility throughout their companies.

“Recognized by the HVAC industry's top green building resource, the United States Green Building Council, MSCA GreenStar was developed to advocate leadership in sustainable mechanical service,” noted MSCA Executive Director Barbara Dolim. “The MSCA GreenStar designation is only given to MSCA STAR companies who have shown an exceptional commitment to sustainable mechanical service and are recognized as leaders in the green movement within the HVAC industry. The designation is evidence that a company possesses the skills necessary to deliver energy-efficient, cost-effective environmental solutions to meet customer needs and ensure tenant safety, health and comfort.”

MSCA GreenStar was created by MSCA to recognize mechanical service contractors who have developed the skills and experience to deliver energy-efficient, cost-effective indoor environmental solutions to their customers.

“Becoming MSCA GreenStar certified puts Fagan in a highly elite group of mechanical contracting companies from across the nation who have the training and resources to provide superior environmental services to its clients,” said William Adams, president and CEO of The Fagan Co. “This designation clearly demonstrates that Fagan is committed to serving the green and sustainability needs of our customers.”

According to Dolim, MSCA GreenStar helps MSCA members demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship. “By attaining MSCA GreenStar status, Current Mechanical has demonstrated their dedication to environmental issues by promoting sustainability throughout their entire organization and delivering the very best environmental solutions to their customers,” said Dolim.

“We're very proud of our MSCA GreenStar status,” stated Pete Smith, vice president of service for Current Mechanical. “MSCA GreenStar allows us to incorporate eco-friendly products and solutions into our business, and lets our customers know we truly care for the environment.”

To qualify for MSCA GreenStar, a contractor must first qualify as an MSCA Star contractor. MSCA Star is a qualification program recognizing contractors that meet or exceed rigorous operating and training standards.
