BERKELEY, CALIF. — I want to thank Bob Miodonski for his thoughtful and well-written Editorial on green building ("Time for you to take green building seriously," February, pg 68). As I mentioned in my remarks March 1 at the MCAA convention in Orlando, Fla., we must, as an industry, lead the charge in the green building movement, and not just go along for the ride.

I have made a commitment that MCAA will become our industry's leader in green building and sustainable construction. Our focus in this area will be highlighted at our conference Sept. 24-26 in Milwaukee: "Catching the Next Wave: Seizing the Green Opportunities that Lie Ahead."

It is also fantastic to see the United Association involved as a founding member of the Green Mechanical Council.

Please keep up the good work in promoting sustainability in our sector of construction. For those of us who have been urging this for years, it is wonderful to see such widespread recognition in your magazine.
