DORCHESTER, ONTARIO — EnerWorks recently appointed Robert Bender as executive vice president. In this position, he will help identify funding mechanisms and link EnerWorks’ customers to these sources, enabling solar thermal technology projects to move forward quickly in North America.

“In today’s business climate, getting access to capital can be an impediment for many projects,” said Jim Fletcher, chair of the EnerWorks Board of Directors and managing director with Chrysalix Energy Management. “As our current distribution expands throughout and beyond North America, financing of large-scale installations is becoming an increasingly important consideration, particularly for commercial and industrial clients. Robert’s responsibilities as executive vice president will include developing methodology to facilitate such financing needs.”

Initially an investor in EnerWorks, Bender found the opportunity to increase his involvement so compelling that he offered his services. His career has included founding and developing a number of technology companies and holding executive positions in venture capital and corporate finance firms. He has worked with project financing and government agencies in several settings in Canada and the U.S.

“To help fuel our continued growth,” said Phil Whiting, EnerWorks president and CEO, “Robert will be working with financial partners at all levels to help secure project funding for our distributors and customers. Everyday, they come to us with outstanding opportunities to benefit from solar thermal technology. Facilitating funding for such projects will help them come to fruition.”
